Lesson:
Today students learned about HOW scientists know about the earth's interior since it is too hot and there is too much pressure to go inside the earth. Packet Paper #8 attached below (How do scientists know about the Earth's interior) As a class Mrs. Allred showed students how to go to the site to do the assignment.
We also had a class discussion about processed or events that occur on the earth's surface that gives scientists information about the earth's interior.
Examples: Volcano - Tells scientists that the earth's interior is very hot, that there are gases and chemicals inside the earth, and scientists can study lava and determine what is it made of.
Earthquake - Tells scientists that there is energy within the earth causing the crust to move.
This assignment can be done at home with a computer.
