BELL WORK:
1. Why do scientists and engineers make and use scaled models?
LESSON:
Today we started learning about the third Cross Cutting Concept. Packet Paper #6, Scale, Proportion & Quantity
1. We watched the Powers of 10 video clip from you tube (attached below) and answered 1, 2, and 3 on the back side of paper #6.
2. We then observed Cell Size and Scale at
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/cells/scale/
and answered question #4
3. We then started on the front side of packet paper #6 and used
identification cards (attached below). Students chose which picture best fit the type of scale and explained why. Students also labeled the Micro to Macro scale using the 12 objects.
